Traveling Seminar in Lakota Lands

Today a CAIRNS team hosted a day-long “workshop on wheels” for West River Area Health Education Center. The traveling seminar began and ended in Rapid City, but spent most of the day in Pine Ridge Reservation. Some of the highlights included a delicious lunch at Bette’s Kitchen, a ride-along by Amanda from Indian Health Service during which she talked about health issues in the reservation, reflection time at the site of the 1890 Wounded Knee Massacre, and a visual learning activity at the Red Cloud Art Show, which is where the photo above was taken.
