YFS LL&I D2

This second day of our Lakotan Lands & Identities traveling seminar for Youth and Family Services featured extended stops at two Lakotan sacred sites: Mato Paha and Pe Shla. We visited Mato Paha (Bear Butte) first thing this morning. After lunch, we visited Pe Shla (Reynolds Prairie). On the return to Rapid City, we stopped at Hill City where participants presented a Reader’s Theater interpretation of accounts of the 1874 Custer Expedition’s travels in the Pe Shla area. Team members are explaining the process in the photo above.
