Big Horn School Visits Exhibit

Today, around 150 Kindergarten through 5th grade students at Big Horn Elementary School visited the Navigating Narratives exhibit at The Brinton Museum. Continuing yesterday’s educational approach, the students were organized into three or four groups that focused on specific sections of the exhibit for 7-10 minutes, then rotated so that by the end of their visit each group was engaged with all of the artworks. The 4th and 5th graders focused on Visual Thinking Strategies whereas the K-3rd graders used color pencils to either “replicate” the artworks or to illustrate what they thought was going on in the exhibit pieces. Due to photo restrictions, the photo above is of the 5th grade teachers: Reata, Cherie´, and Lisa (r-l).
