Lori Walsh (on the right) and Delainey came to Wingsprings to interview the CAIRNS director today. The focus of the interview was the 1927 novel Giants in the Earth by O. E. Rolvaag that inspired an opera that won a Pulitzer Prize for music in 1951 and that will be performed next month by the South Dakota Synphony Orchestra. Excerpts from this interview and others might be included in an introduction to the South Dakota Public Broadcasting’s recording of the performance.
