PopPalaeo Presents In and Out of Place
Tuesday, February 10, 2026
Popularize Paleontology (PopPalaeo) is "an international group of humanities and social sciences scholars, scientists, museum professionals, artists, and participants from the cultural sector” who discuss the “public circulation of scientific ideas” by “investigating the importance of palaeontlogical concepts in the modern world, while also developing new understandings and methods for science communication more generally.” Lukas Rieppel and the CAIRNS director were invited to present the In and Out of Place exhibit to a Zoom gathering of PopPalaeo. In their talk, the co-curators shared the latest developments of the exhibit and then fielded many questions. The image above includes five of the eight replicas of skulls of extinct animals that will be displayed in the exhibit.
