The 2014 film, Lakota Star Knowledge, that CAIRNS co-produced was screened at Spore Initiatie, according to its website, “is a cultural initiative dedicated to ecological regeneration, community participation, and knowledge exchange” whose aim “is to create a space of for honest reflection, open dialogue, and collective learning.” The screening was attended by a full house that included sixteen high school students from Wakpala, in Standing Rock Reservation, and Dupree, in Cheyenne River Reservation, plus their five chaperones.
