University of South Dakota staff members (R-L in the photo above) Elise [Director of Institute of American Indian Studies], Damon [Director of Tribal Outreach], and Alison [Curator of South Dakota Oral History Center] toured Wingsprings, the home of CAIRNS. The tour focused on how Lakotan cosmology is embodied in the architecture and site planning. Afterwards, over lunch with the CAIRNS director, they discussed the Oral History Center. Interesting topics included the purpose of “informed consent” forms and intellectual property owners of oral histories.
