Lakotan Lands Traveling Seminar - Day Two

Day Two highlights of the traveling seminar included the White River Visitor Center, Oglala Lakota Artspace, and Wingsprings, the home of CAIRNS. During the stop at Wingsprings, Maraya Hicks catered lunch and Marc Marshall shared her experiences working at the Rosebud Wellness Center in Rosebud Reservation. Then the participants were organized into eight tiyoshpayes as part of an allotment activity. In the photo above, two of the tiyospayes are strategizing where they were planning to select their allotments and why they chose their locations. The allotment map of the fictional Wolverine Reservation can be seen on the right side of the photo. On the left background can be seen some of the panels of the community-version of The Gift educational art exhibit.
