Welcome to the online version of The Gift, an educational art exhibit. It includes songs, visual artworks and poems by more than thirty contemporary Lakotan artists. The "narrative" section of this exhibit is organized into seven passages that comprise the traditional account of the gift of the sacred pipe, while the "gift" section is organized into the seven ceremonies that Black Elk says are associated with the pipe.
